Mothers Day Contest

Dr. Chan would like to thank all the kids who took the time to participate in the Mothers Day Essay Contest.   Congratulations to Dalton S.,  Cheyenne C., and Julie Ann B.  this years winners who will receive  a gift certificate to Westfield Shopping Center.  Here are the winning essays:

 

My mom is special because she gives me toys. I love my mom. She loves me. She likes me.  Dalton S. Age 6

 

My mom is special because:  My mom Tanya is very special to me and my brother and sister.  My brother is handicapped and my mom still finds time to make sure she plays with me and  my sister.  My mom bakes cookies, brownies, pizza and other good stuff.  I love my mom.   Cheyenne C. Age 9 

 

My Mom is special because she is the only person I know who can morph a day into twenty-six hours instead of wallowing in the normal person's day of twenty-four.  After waking up at six in the morning to correct my pile of term papers as mercilessly as she can with her wicked red pen (she was once a teacher herself), hurrying to school to make sure I'm not tardy, bowling  her perfect 300 game in her morning ladies' league, taking our tortoise for his checkup at the veterinarian's office, baking another, succulent, tender, sweet angel food cake, tucking my chlorine drenched swimsuit in the wash, and finally lovingly kissing me goodnight, she certainly isn't ordinary.  She's like superhuman, in a way.  She will never be ordinary, but always unique.  That's what makes her so incredibly beautiful, my mom.  Julia Ann B.  Age 15
